Our project principles

Without a doubt, the Purfleet community is central to ensuring the best possible and the most successful regeneration of the town. The project continues to benefit from the insight of the Purfleet Community Forum and together, with leaders within the community, we jointly set up the Purfleet Community Design Panel to help shape the development. The Design Panel, chaired by John Rowles works collectively with PCRL to identify locally important issues, contribute local knowledge and provide a forum to test emerging plans.

As the project moves forward we are looking to build on this involvement further as the project is committed to the following principles:

  • Establishing a genuine dialogue with the local community
Effective consultation and engagement - include the local community at every stage of the development
Help local people and businesses engage with the opportunities created by the development
Be an active member of the local community

We want to hear from you!

The project team wants to do our very best at engaging with you and receiving your input. No matter your age, and if you have lived in Purfleet all your life, or only just moved here recently, we want to hear from you.

You might be:

  • Part of the Purfleet community
Have views on what you would like the future Purfleet to look like
A member of a local group with aspirations for the regeneration of Purfleet
Keen to preserve elements of the existing town as part of the new development
Keen to avoid certain types of development in Purfleet

We’ve built the Our Purfleet section to make it easy to share your input with us. Click the button below to discover the sharing tools available to the community!

A special thanks to our existing partner for their hard work over the last four years!
